What Is Renewable Natural Gas?
Renewable Natural Gas (RNG), also known as Sustainable Natural Gas (SNG) and Bio Methane, is a renewable biogas that has been upgraded for use as an alternative to fossil natural gas. It is created from a variety of sources, such as food and livestock waste, landfills, and wastewater, which otherwise would act as pollutants to the environment. The quality and standard of RNG are achieved through the removal of CO2 and other contaminants and impurities from the biogas before increasing the concentration of methane present. This enables it to be used in existing gas pipelines for a range of applications, including vehicle fuel, electricity generation, creating bioplastics, cooking, and heating.

What Are the Benefits of Renewable Natural Gas?
As RNG is of pipeline quality, it is entirely interchangeable with natural gas and other less sustainable alternatives
It can be used as a transportation fuel in the same way as conventional natural gas - this includes Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)
Renewable Natural Gas is certified as an advanced biofuel under the Renewable Fuel Standard
Environmentally friendly and sustainable, helping to reduce agricultural methane release, as well as utilizing waste for a better purpose
There is no added cost for the customer as it works seamlessly with current gas distribution systems, offering security and stability and promoting a more sustainable future

From Source to Application - Why Are Pumps Important?
Pumps are an essential part of anaerobic digestion and converting landfill gas into Renewable Natural Gas or Bio Methane. They are used for feedstock preprocessing and the collection of landfill gas for biogas production, compression, and upgrading. Pumps are an effective way to maximize biogas production and quality due to their integral role at every stage of production. This is demonstrated in the process map below…
